In September 1980, China joined the Asian Packaging Association. In December of the same year, the China Packaging Technology Association was established. The efforts made in the past 20 years have yielded gratifying results. At the same time as obtaining direct economic benefits, the provinces and cities have corresponding specialties and cultivated specialized packaging design talents for the market. However, there is still a big gap compared with developed countries. The reason, from the fundamental point of professional education of packaging engineering, is that the theoretical study and research related to packaging design disciplines are repeated, and the teaching still stays in the decoration and beautification phase of the packaging surface, and it lacks scientificity and rationality. Therefore, in the future, professional courses should open up professional courses such as packaging design, packaging materials, packaging machinery, packaging techniques and methods, as well as performance techniques and other modern packaging and decoration design courses, while supplementing and emphasizing packaging design in terms of pleasantness. Emphasizing that packaging design is both a science and an art, and its key lies in the basic starting point for serving people.

The packaging design talents that we cultivate are the problems that we need to address in order to develop product packaging and meet the requirements. After improvement, combination, conception, re-creation, and finally complete the series of design processes. It can also be said that the design process is a system activity that conveys product information and displays products by solving actual product problems. Therefore, the most fundamental purpose of packaging design of product entities is to facilitate people's lives.
