Erhard Loretan - Erhard Loretan
Born in 1959, grew up in a mountain village in Switzerland called Cruz. In 1981 he obtained the Takayama Wizard Certificate.
When he was 11 years old, he climbed the mountain. Four years later, he boarded the Doldenhom (3,645 meters) along the rocky course of the Eastern Ridge.
It was his credo that was light and fast. In the eight 8,000-meter peaks he and Jean Troillet climbed, there was only one formation and he seemed to be facing the Himalayas. He often does not bring camping equipment and stoves, with only minimal food and water.
He said: The shorter the time, the more secure.
Erhard Loretan completed 14 8000 mountain climbs in 13 years and is still alive. As of now, only ten people in the world have completed this feat and three of them have been killed.
