Doing so can provide a standard electronic file for the next step, for RIP, digital proofing, CTF production or CTP plate making. Worry-free output provides protection; at the same time, due to the design, output and printing, it helps to achieve the consistency of the preview performance of the document and the final printing effect.
This article will introduce the method and main content of the file pre-inspection, and explain the conventional software used in printing such as PhotoShop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, FreeHand and PageMaker.
2 File pre-checking method
1) The conventional method firstly looks at whether the software used for the manuscript is suitable for printing and publication, and then opens the file with the original software, and checks by the function of the software itself, and corrects if there is an error in the above content.

3 Main contents of file pre-check
The main items to be checked in the file pre-check are page size, bleeding, text content, image format, image link, color mode, font, special effects, and overprinting, trapping and other printing factors to be considered. It can be roughly classified as follows:
1) Image category â‘ Whether the image is covered, cropped, invisible or abnormally displayed;
â‘¡ Whether the format of the embedded image is correct and whether it is compressed;
â‘¢ Is there an image in RGB format;
â‘£ Is there a link to the original picture and is the link correct?

4 Software "output trap"
1) PhotoShop
â‘ After editing the picture, without modifying it, you must remove the unused Channel;
â‘¡If there are multiple Layers, all useful Layers must be merged, and unused Layers should be removed.
2) Illustrator
①For the EPS image generated by Illustrator? Check if the text is turned? Is black done for overprinting; Illustrator ’s 100% black is not automatically overprinted, but hollowed out, and you need to select the check mark or fill 100 in the filter / color / black overprint function % Black Overprint;
② In Illustrator, the Output option of the vector graphic attribute should be set to 800 ～ 2540dpi, if it is lower than this value? The edge of the vector graphic will be deformed;
â‘¢ In Illustrator, white fills and lines need to check the Overprint option in the properties. If selected, the image elements will be lost during output;
④In the IIIustrator file, it is necessary to find out whether the layout is based on the layout of the heart or the actual layout: because Illustrator 8.0 only prints the range of valid images in the page, no blank space is printed. If there is no special setting, the file size printed by the software will be different from the page size defined by the customer. For example, an A4-size page has only a 100 mm × 100 mm image, and the finished document is only 100 mm × 100 mm. There are two ways to solve this problem:
a) Add a border that is exactly the same as the page size and the color is set to colorless. The software considers the colorless border to be valid content and will print the file at a normal size, and because the border is colorless, it will not affect Normal image content.
b) Make adjustments when printing PS files. In "Color Separation Settings", the "Border" settings include left, right, top, and bottom. Ensure that "right to left = file width, top to bottom = file height" ", Special attention: If the file does not bleed, the bleeding in the" Color Separation Settings "when printing the PS file must be set to 0 mm. 3) CorelDraw
①Paragraph text containing Chinese and English special characters is prone to problems, such as "■, @, ★, ○", etc .;
â‘¡Use the new standard GBK font library to solve the problem of missing remote characters;
â‘¢For fonts that are too small, it is best not to use more than two colors for overprinting, such as (C10 M30 Y80), etc. Similarly, it is not applicable to reverse white characters on a dark background. In the unavoidable situation, it is necessary to mark the reversed words, and the approximate background color or a printed monochrome (usually black) is applicable;
â‘£Art text can be directly converted to a curve? And the number of nodes of the text after conversion to a curve is controlled within 1500 points; paragraph text should be exported as a curve using wmf format, and then imported, and the color is set to be consistent with the original.
⑤ Some fonts will turn into "hollow characters" after turning into curves, such as italic GB2312, imitation Song GB2312, Handing special black script, Handing beautiful black script, etc., please use with caution. In addition, some places where the English characters turn after the curve will also be hollowed out, also pay attention to;
â‘¥CorelDraw text layout, if the text is copied from WORD or Notepad, double-byte spaces need to be removed (use WORD to find / replace), otherwise it is easy to run out of position;
⑦ Use PSD transparent basemap in CorelDraw, easy to draw white lines, you can first convert the map to bitmap;
⑧Do not do any "operation" after importing the PSD file in CorelDraw, such as: rotation, mirroring, tilting, etc. Due to its transparent mask, the image will be damaged after output; the picture should be transferred to the bitmap again in CorelDraw ;
⑨CorelDraw can use the shading and patterns attached to the software to fill the graphics or as a base map; use to choose the appropriate accuracy? Usually 1.5 to 2.0 times the number of output lines? If the accuracy is too low, the accuracy of the diagram will be too high. Affect the output speed. The selected basemap should pay attention to whether its attribute is CMYK mode? Generally, the filled basemap shading is RGB mode, and it should be converted to four-color mode;
â‘©When there are overprints in CorelDraw files, the overprints cannot be removed completely when the PS is generated without keeping the file overprints, and they need to be manually removed;
⑾ Pay attention to the gradient filling of red → black when filling. After the wrong setting is (M100 → K100), it will be difficult to see in the middle. The correct setting should be like this: (M100 → M100 K100), and so on in other cases;

4) FreeHand
