According to the Japanese news, Shin-Etsu Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. has developed a double-sided adhesive tape "TC-20SAS" for heat dissipation that combines high heat dissipation and long-term reliability. This adhesive tape not only has a high thermal conductivity of 0.7 W/m·K but also is excellent in adhesion, heat resistance, electrical insulation, and the like. The thickness of the adhesive tape is 200 μm and the standard size is 300×400 mm, which can also meet the customer's requirements. Mass production will begin in June 2008.

   At present, almost all commercially available double-sided adhesive tapes are made of acrylic material, and their use is limited due to aging of the adhesive layer at high temperatures. In contrast, the new adhesive tape is made of a silicone material and can be used not only in the temperature range of -40 to +150°C, but also has long-term reliability. In addition, stickiness and revalidation are also excellent.
