Kite Packaging Opens New Midlands Office

New location will house Group Accounts and Environmental Solutions teams

This month, Kite Packaging, a leading UK packaging supplier, officially opened its new office at the Alliance Trading Estate in Coventry. The grand opening marks a major milestone for the company as it continues to expand its operations across the UK. This new facility is part of a £3.5 million investment that has allowed Kite to fully own the entire estate, which is located on Torrington Avenue.

The new building includes a modern warehouse and additional office space, serving as the headquarters for the Group Accounts team and Kite Environmental Solutions (KES). These departments are crucial in supporting multi-site customers and offering expert advice on packaging waste regulations. The expansion comes after a period of rapid growth, with the company needing more space to accommodate its expanding business units, including Kite Online and KES.

Since 2007, Kite has been based at the estate, but with the recent expansion, the company's property footprint in the Midlands has more than doubled—from 69,000 sq. ft to 179,000 sq. ft. This has led to the hiring of several new employees, including 12 additional call center agents in the Telesales division. The company has also brought in new Account Managers and Graduate Trainees to support its growing customer base.

The official opening took place during a management meeting attended by all seven Kite branches, including the Midlands. The newly renovated building was unveiled with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, featuring the company’s signature green and white color scheme. The warehouse has also been upgraded with a scissor lift, narrower lanes for better storage, and new forklift trucks to improve efficiency.

The expanded warehouse has created more job opportunities, with additional roles for pickers, packers, drivers, and stock controllers. This will help ensure a smoother delivery process for Kite’s customers, who already benefit from free standard delivery and next-day delivery options on online orders. The company also offers full-service solutions like Just-In-Time (JIT) delivery for branch customers.

In 2014, Kite launched a new division called Kite Specialist Services and Solutions. Two innovative products have already been introduced: the Kite Air Shock, an inflatable packaging solution for fragile items, and the Kite Wrap & Hold, which eliminates the need for void fill entirely. These new offerings reflect the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive and sustainable packaging solutions.
