Safety valve installation should pay attention to the following points
1. The safety valve should be installed upright and close to the protected equipment or piping. If it is not possible to approach the installation, the total pressure drop from the protected equipment or piping to the safety valve inlet piping should not exceed 3% of the safety valve constant pressure value.
2. The inlet of the safety valve should be a long radius elbow.
3. The safety valve should be equipped with an inspection platform. When arranging heavy safety valves, it is necessary to consider the safety valve to be hoisted after disassembly. If necessary, a boom should be provided.
4. The safety valve outlet piping design should consider that the back pressure does not exceed a certain value of the safety valve constant pressure. Ordinary spring type safety valve, the back pressure does not exceed 10% of the safety valve constant pressure value.
5. Discharge into the closed system safety valve outlet pipe should flow to the top of the 45° slanting discharge main pipe to avoid the condensate flowing into the branch pipe and reduce the back pressure of the safety valve.
6. When discharging into the venting main pipe or going to the torch main medium with condensate or condensable gas, the safety valve outlet should be higher than the main pipe; otherwise, liquid discharge measures should be taken.
7. When the shut-off valve is installed on the inlet and outlet of the safety valve, the single gate valve should be selected and sealed, and the valve stem should be installed horizontally to prevent the valve plate from sliding down when the valve stem and valve plate connecting pin are corroded or loose. When the safety valve is equipped with a bypass valve, the valve should be sealed off.
