1 Introduction

With the improvement of living standards, people have put forward higher requirements on the aesthetics of package styling. The general carton has not fully satisfied the requirements, and packaging companies have begun to shift some of their gaze to special-shaped cartons. The contoured carton is beautiful in appearance and elegant in shape, which changes the image of the regular rectangular hexahedral carton, thereby creating an elegant atmosphere of the contents, attracting customers, having good publicity, and a broad market prospect.

The structure of the special-shaped box is complex. The existing carton CAD system is only suitable for the general carton structure design, and has not studied the characteristics of the special-shaped box. The abnormal carton CAD design system Abnormal Carton that this author studies is to choose different pieces of carton parts, through the splicing technology to spell the special-shaped carton.

2 Abnormal Carton's Design Ideas

1) Definition of Shaped Boxes Shaped folding cartons can be said to be other than right-angled hexahedrons. They can be molded either by basic molding methods or by special design techniques based on basic structures. The change of the carton may be the upper part or the lower part of the carton, or it may be on the side or a part of the case.

2) Design Ideas Although the structure of the special-shaped carton is complicated, it has been found through research that the box of the special-shaped carton consists of rectangles, rounded rectangles, triangles and trapezoids. We call these simple graphics "cartridge parts", so we can first find the common parts of various types of special-shaped boxes and build a library of parts. By calling the parts in the part library, the different box-piece parts are assembled into the cassettes of the special-shaped carton by the splicing technology. In this way, the process of carton structural design accordingly becomes the splicing of the parts of the carton. combination.

The special-shaped carton CAD includes a cassette library, a cassette library, and a cassette piece editing module in the software. The cassette library contains common cassettes, and the cassette library contains the most commonly used cassette components. Figure 1 shows the most commonly used cassette parts for a profiled cassette. Using the part editing module allows the user to create new parts or modify existing ones.

The cassette and cassette parts are parameterized, ie the set parameters that make up the cassette and cassette parts can be automatically adjusted as needed. Such as the length, width, and height of the carton; the length of the line, the angle of inclination, the radius of the arc, the starting and ending angle parameters, and so on.

The simplest way to use Abnormal Carton to design a special-shaped cartons is to call the cassettes in the existing cassette library, that is, to input the design parameters of the carton, such as the length, width, height, paper thickness, etc., to obtain the profiled cassettes. design diagram. If the existing cartridge map can not meet the requirements of the design, the designer can also call the parts in the library to synthesize a new cartridge chart by the splicing technology and store it in the cartridge library; if the required cartridge parts There is no part library, can not be assembled from the existing box-chip parts, designers can also design their own needs of the box-chip parts and store it in the cassette library.
