- DSN 7075 aluminum heads for increased rigidity and longevity
In addition, the [R-Ring Carbon Fiber R Series] has introduced a widened version, with popular models like R5 and R3 now available in a 26mm width. This upgrade provides a more stable ride, improved aerodynamics, and a more dynamic experience on the trail.
The R3 disc brake version shares the same tube and OPEN tire setup as the R3 sports model but features an asymmetric wheel design. This asymmetry enhances braking performance by ensuring even spoke tension, resulting in a stronger and more reliable wheelset. The R3 disc brake is a full carbon fiber wheelset with a 38mm rim height and 26mm width, featuring 24 front and 28 rear spokes paired with DSN aluminum heads.
According to Henry Hinojosa, “As the market began to demand disc brakes for road use, we knew we had to develop wheels that were lightweight, strong, and responsive. The asymmetric design allowed us to combine all these elements into one high-performance package.†This makes the R3 ideal for attacking climbs, sprinting, accelerating, and training.
