Faerch launches polylactic acid degradable packaging product in Denmark

The Faerch Plastics Company of Denmark has begun to use degradable plastics for packaging and developed various packaging products using polymer PLA (Polylactic Acid) Natureworks of Cargill Dow. The new product will be used to package low-temperature fresh foods, including pastas, meats, and salads. It is suitable for manual and automatic packaging lines. Food processing plants can use existing packaging production equipment.

Faerch's existing packaging products include a variety of discs, bottles, and heat-sealable original processing resins PS, PP, and PET. Jems Borstein, head of operations at the company, believes that adoption of this new product will place the company and its users at the forefront of the packaging industry. The company's current annual turnover is 74 million euros.
