GMG is about to release the latest version 4.1.14

In 2006 China International All In Print Exhibition, GMG will officially release the latest version of GMG 4.1.14 to Chinese users. The GMG ColorProof, GMG DotProof, GMG FlexoProof, GMG ColorServer and GMG InkOptimizer 4.1.14 versions of the entire GMG product family have now been released globally. In the just-exposed IPEX show, GMG has already presented some highlights of the new version. This version upgrade is an important upgrade that includes many new features.

New Features of ColorProof 4.1.14

I. Support for the new GretagMacbeth iO measurement tool The GretagMacbeth iO can be used for automatic measurements and supports TC3 and ECI2002 test charts.
Second, the new multi-color ICC engine and the new gamut mapping support use the Logo ICC engine to use the multi-channel ICC profile as the source profile. This new feature can be used for high fidelity and packaging printing proofing jobs. The Logo ICC engine was obtained from GretagMacbeth.
New gamut mapping black point compensation: The ICC color conversion in ColorProof and ColorServer can select the new fifth mapping method. According to Adobe software, the fifth mapping complies with the relevant chromaticity black field compensation. This new mapping method can only be used in combination with the Logo ICC engine. If other ICC engines choose this mapping method, they will report an error.
Third, from the GMG 230g / m2 paper to GMG matt 250g / m2 paper features a new version of the file conversion tool ProfileEditor tool menu has a new tool - "transformation properties file." This tool converts the MX4 profile of GMG 230g/m2 paper used in the existing Epson Stylus Pro 4000/7600/9600 to an MX4 profile using high-quality GMG matte 250g/m2 paper. There are two conversion options, one is to switch to the same printer series, and the other is to convert to the new printer series Epson Stylus Pro 4800/7800/9800.
IV. PROTECTION OF PROPERTY FILE PROTECTION BY SERGER SERIAL NUMBER In the new version, MX4 and MX5 profiles can be protected using one or more dongle numbers. After encryption protection, these profiles can be used for printing or color conversion in ColorProof or ColorServer only if the dongle number matches the number stored in the profile. The user enters a password when saving a protected profile to prevent others from changing or canceling the protection.
V. Estimation of target value and current value In the Profile Editor, the target value or current value can be estimated from the existing CMYK color value. This new function is located in the "Measurement/Estimation Target Value or Current Value" column of the menu. The user can quickly check without printing or measuring. When using this function, the existing target value or current value will be overwritten. It is recommended that for high-quality proofing, the printed value is measured as an estimate of the LAB value, and this function is not used in place of actual printing.
Sixth, supports the local Fuji Celebrant file format Seventh, uses the Profile Editor to be more convenient If uses the printer calibration ("uses the printer calibration" in the common column activation) to create the characteristic file, then the printer linearization no longer shows in "More parameters" This avoids unnecessary editing and confusion during the operation and simplifies the operation process.
8. Spot Colors for Expanded Spot Colors Spot colors in a spot color database can use level curves, which can be used for manual or hot folder jobs. With this feature, each spot color in the spot color database can be assigned a spot color with a path. When processing through a hot folder, the hierarchical spot colors defined in the hot folder properties have a higher priority.
Nine, the calibration wizard is easier to use The new version enlarges the list of MX3 calibration files displayed in the calibration wizard to better identify calibration files for more than two printers.
X. GMG ColorProof that supports the new Polish version has a Polish version.
Eleventh, support OKI C9600 laser printer
After version 4.1.14, GMG software supports the OKI C9600 digital printer. When printing on the OKI C9600 printer, use the corresponding *.sca file. For OKI 9600 printers, the available documents are: printer calibration files and ISO coated profiles for 105 g/m2 color copy paper, and ISO newspaper 26v4 profiles and calibration files for GMG 57g/m2 newsprint.
12. Remote Calibration Wizard Printer Calibration can be performed quickly on another computer that does not have the ColorProof program installed so that printing and measuring TC3 calibration charts can be performed from any user computer on the remote network, while the ColorProof program itself is installed. Print on a high-performance server. In the new version, the "permit remote calibration" function is to be activated in the general settings of ColorProof, and the entire ColorProof installation folder must be shared with the client computers on the network. Only the remote calibration wizard can be installed and operated on the client computer.

New ColorServer 4.1.14 Features

First, ColorServer New Profile Editor
With the help of the new profile editor's RGB color separation profile, CMYK conversion profile and CMYK re-separation profile can be created according to individual needs. There are more separation settings and gamut mapping options that can be selected to create these profiles. Create RGB MX4 Profile Select "File/New RGB Profile". When creating a new RGB MX4 separation profile there is a new wizard that helps the user to complete the creation process.
2. Automatically Assigning ColorServer MX4 Profiles to Images After loading pixel images of built-in profiles, such as TIFF and JPEG images, into hot folders, you can individually define the criteria for how to use the ColorServer MX4 profile to process these images. This new feature is intended to automatically convert or color large numbers of images with the desired high quality GMG ColorServer profile. This function called "Additional Property Files" in the hot folder properties can be defined in a tabular structure so that the GMG property files will be used for the built-in profile identified from the image and even the built-in features The mapping in the file.
Third, grayscale image processing In the new version, grayscale images can be treated like CMYK four-color images. If the unprocessed CMYK conversion profile contains only black channel information but no CMY channel, a grayscale image of the channel is obtained after the color conversion. Otherwise, create a CMYK four-color image. This feature applies to color image and file conversion and cannot be used for PDF to PDF conversion.
Fourth, RGB/CMYK/3D sharpening of grayscale image In the new version, the three-dimensional sharpening function used in ColorServer for color and file conversion can be used not only for RGB images but also for grayscale and CMYK four-color images. In the previous version, the PDF to PDF conversion, three-dimensional sharpening function can only be used for RGB images.
GMG 4.1.14 not only added or improved many of the above functions, but also made some rigorous repairs to some minor defects in the previous version, making the GMG software more convenient and smooth to use. With the successful opening of the GMG Dealer Conference in 2006 and the new opening of the All In Print Show, GMG expects greater success in the Chinese market. At the same time, with the global color management product quality and advanced technology, GMG will continue to bring Chinese customers high-quality, full-process color management solutions, and continue to advance the development of the printing industry and color management technology.
