Talk about your opinion on the global corrugated paper industry

In the countries I visited, there seemed to be some common views, such as:
1. The good days have passed.
2. The market is very difficult.
3. There is no more profit than in the past.
4. Dealing with people has become difficult.
5. Users keep depressing prices, but production costs continue to rise.
6. Turnover and / ton production decline.
These comments have appeared in the vast majority of industrial and commercial trade magazines, as well as in recently published management textbooks. The situation changed in the late 1980s, and the curve in the chart quickly rose rather than slowly. Change has become the norm, and this variable begins to increase at a rate of 20% or even 100% per year, rather than a 2-6% annual rate of change. Few people/companies can anticipate this change and be able to cope with this rapid change.
In the countries I visited, about 95% of the corrugated box manufacturers complained about how difficult they were, how depressed the market was, and how quickly their profits fell (or no profit caused losses). In these countries, some corrugated box factories (about 2-5%) told me that "the situation has never been better, profits and turnover have increased, debts have decreased, and we have been forced to decline some users". What is the difference between 95% and 5%? This is the law of 80/20, which is also the law of 95/5. That is, 5% of the factories are developing at a rapid rate and they are making huge profits. Why?
According to my personal experience, a small number of countries in the corrugated box factories that can enter the high-level market are of better quality. Those are those who always put their smiles on their faces and have higher-capacity financial managers. High-level users seek/buy high-quality cartons. High-level users are willing to pay more for high-quality cartons because high-quality cartons do enable them to reduce costs and increase profits. High-level users owed less money, paid faster, and were more loyal to suppliers, that is, they formed a long-term partnership and formed a strategic win-win alliance, making both buyers and sellers profitable. High-quality carton factories also have very low scrap rates, and high reject rates often impair the factory's production capacity.
How can a factory that produces better quality cartons submit product quality? In fact, it is very simple - comply with established rules and regulations, follow the guidelines and policies of progress.
Guess that up to 15% (or 5%) of the world's best carton manufacturers operate in almost the same way. When you visit those production plants with large scale and high quality products, they basically follow the same path. That is, they all adhere to established rules and regulations and follow established conventions/habits of efficient company/managers/workers.
The good news is that they are not secretive - they will leave these basic rules and regulations to future generations (if you wish).
It's a bit like trying to find a friend's place to live or find a factory you've never been to. If you get a traffic map with clear signs and directions, you can follow the directions. You will reach your destination quickly, and you will not feel a sense of urgency and will not take the wrong road.
However, my experience is that only about 5% of carton manufacturers want to move forward as a guide to the development of high-quality, multi-profit carton factories. About 95% of carton manufacturers in various countries of the world choose to go their own way. They generally do not learn the experience of leading or successful carton factories. Why? I don't know. I discussed this issue with the experts for a long time and I also wanted to find the answer from the book. I also thought about it for a long time. This is one of the incredible things in life. Public psychologists call it "5% of flexibility". Throughout the life journey of a person, all personal things, and the production and operation, the results have certain patterns. Just think about why this is the case, only about 5% is "flexible." This is good news, because if you decide to become one of them, it is very easy, because the other 95% do not go along the basic route.
Therefore, whether you are willing to become "3% of flexibility" is your own decision. Whether it is willing to be the best carton factory with 3-5%, obtain higher profits, bring more joy, have better customers, and be more welcomed by loyal users. The good news is that if you decide to enter the "high-level market," you must formulate rules and regulations, set the direction for the future, and develop guidelines for how to enter the "high-level market." Those who choose to do so will become successful. Will become a very successful company. Some successful companies have some manuals, rules and regulations and some notifications for your reference. The rules and regulations are very simple. Some simple actions, basic principles, and good results in the province are usually found in those carton factories in the world that only have 5% of the business. If you are not afraid to learn their experiences, follow their experience, put their experience into practice, and use discipline to enforce these experiences, then you can be successful.
